Graduate Student Liaison

John Staunton is a second year graduate student at Columbia University. He is currently doing research on the Trans-Planckian Censorship Conjecture and the symmetries behind the vanishing love numbers of black holes. In the past, he worked on interstellar dust with Frits Paerels at Columbia, Dual AGNs with Ezequiel Treister in Chile at Pontificia Universidad Católica, and infrared optics with Dmitri Basov. He is passionate about making education accessible to all, as demonstrated by volunteer work for the Boys & Girls club, debate coaching for high school students without institutional support, and recitation TA work. He is current involved in the Physics Scholars Program and Snack & Solve. He is more than happy to answer any and all questions through email at [email protected].
